25 June 2005 marks the advent of the 1st Hwarang Taekwondo Meet hosted by Maris Stella High School Taekwondo Club. The Meet strives to promote Taekwondo as a sport CCA in primary and secondary schools and to motivate healthy competition among junior practitioners by allowing them to pit their skills against each other.The Meet was attended by about 200 young and eager Taekwondo practitioners from the different primary and secondary schools islandwide competing among a wide variety of events. The events include team poomse, sparring as well as the Taekwondo Challenge for Primary school students which comprises the speed, height, combination and strength categories. Our Coach Lim Wei Meng, selected a team comprising twelve of our young students to participate in the meet with the aim of exposing them to new challenges. He also appointed Randal Ke to be the Team Manager for this event.With the supportive parents and instructors who have guided them through the training for the events, The team managed to secure four medals from the various categories.
