How long does it takes to become proficient?
A
student will acquires important skills after only a few lessons
and takes only a short time to gain a lot of valuable knowledge.
However, it takes many years of hard work to master the art.

4.
What will I learn at the primary stage of Taekwondo class?
A
beginner is first taught mental and physical techniques, as well
as basic self defence maneuvers. After mastering these basics, he
is ready to move on to more advanced aspects of Taekwondo.

5.
Would I be placed in a class with advanced students?
No.
You will be placed in a class with other students at your own level
and in most cases your age group. You will progress within this
group at your own pace and speed.

6.
Will I get hurt?
Under
the staff's direct supervision, the students are taught how to control
the amount of bodily contact while sparring. This allows rooms for
errors and conditioning of good techniques. At no time is a student
allowed to use destructive force. This policy ensure safe training
and maximum learning for all students.

7.
Can every black belt be an instructor?
No.
He/she must complete special training and apprenticeship before
the Singapore Taekwondo Federation and Sports Council can certify
him as an qualified instructor. The required time to elevate from
apprentice to associate instructor is approximately 4 years.

8.
Who are eligible for classes?
Students
can begin training Taekwondo from as young as 5 years of age and
continue their training well into their eighties. Perhaps the most
attractive aspect of the martial art is that each person condition
him/herself at his/her own pace. This idea of self-pace rests on
the fact that people study the martial art for many different reasons:
- Exercise
- Discipline
- Self-defence
- Competition
Therefore
each person must determine for him/herself how much he/she wants
to learn, improve and progress.

9.
How do I go about if I decide to join?
Just
come for any of the Saturday lessons with your Track Pants
and T-Shirt from 7pm to 9pm. Before the start of the lesson, register
at the main office (Level 1) at Henderson C.C. We will take measurements
for the uniform and also brief you on the procedures and steps.

10.Some
clubs require their students to purchase both the body protector
and headgear. Is it necessary?? Because it is kind of expensive.
Henderson
TKD has sufficient training equipments for every lesson conducted.
To purchase the body protector and/ or headgear is optional. Some
students may get it due to hygiene concerns.

much will it cost for the Shin, Forearm and Groin Guard together??

will cost not more than $40.

12.I
am already 23 years old. How are you going to blend me in with the
kids?
Don’t
worry about your age. You will not be put together with the kids.
In fact we conduct lessons specifically for adults. However it falls
on every Wednesday from 7.30pm-9pm.
